The procedure of laser toning is relatively simple:<\/p>\n

    Choose 1064-nm wavelength of QSL.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
  • \n
    The largest spot, 6\u201310mm available on the system, should be chosen.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
  • \n
    The fluence chosen will be in between 0.8 and 2 J\/cm2<\/sup>\u00a0<\/span>depending on the spot size of the laser. The starting fluence is chosen according to the spot size available with system and color of melasma. For a spot size of 8\u201310mm, the fluence range should be between 0.8 and 1.4 J\/cm2<\/sup>.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

    The handpiece should always be held perpendicular to the skin.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
  • \n
    Frequency should be 5\u201310 Hz.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
  • \n
    There should not be an overlap of more than 10%\u201315% between the two pulses.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

    The endpoint of the treatment will be faint erythema or three to four passes (if there is no perceptible erythema).<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
